Job 13:15 — “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.”

Genesis 32:26 — “I will not let go until You bless me.”

We’ve all heard it, or maybe even said it—“Life be lifing.” It’s the kind of phrase that needs no explanation, yet carries the weight of exhaustion, overwhelm, and unpredictability. According to urban vernacular, it means life is doing the absolute most—serving chaos and change at the same time. But how should we respond?

What Does It Mean to Respond?

To respond is more than reacting—it's an intentional choice. Our response reflects where our faith stands when everything else is shaking. Will we respond with fear or with faith? Will we fall apart or fall into worship?

Job’s First Response: Worship

Job 1:21 — “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Job’s life changed in a single day. Wealth lost. Family gone. Future uncertain. But instead of cursing God, Job fell to the ground and worshipped. He didn’t deny the pain—he just decided God was still worthy.

When Life Hits Hard, Hold On

Jacob wrestled with a divine

being through the night and refused to let go without a blessing. Sometimes, your victory is found in your refusal to quit. “I will not let go until You bless me!” That’s the faith that breaks through.

How Should You Respond?

Here’s your spiritual game plan when life starts lifing:

• Worship — like Job, fall on your face and honor God.

• Stand — put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

• Endure — know the trial is working for your good (James 1:3-4).

• Trust — you may be troubled, but you’re not destroyed

(2 Corinthians 4:7-10).

• Rejoice — even fiery trials lead to glory (1 Peter 4:12-13).

Final Thoughts

Life is unpredictable, but God is unchanging. Worship anchors you. Faith steadies you. You might be pressed, but you’re not crushed. Let your response glorify God and grow your faith.

Hold on. Don’t let go. A blessing is on the other side.
